Art Journaling pg 1

It has been quite awhile since I have posted anything, and although I have been doing art since then and now, this is the first thing that I have done that I have gotten around to scanning in. Also the most recent thing that I have done. I have taken up a new trade of making journals and finally, art journalling itself. This is from my doodle journal, I'm probably just going to make this my main journal since it just feels so much freer to make art in something labelled "doodle" journal.

I have begun a daily challenge/ prompt in order to make one piece of art a day, starting sometime between the recent past and now. This challenge is on dreaming. This is my awakened dream.

Self Reflections Have Everything to do With You and You and You and Me

We are a reflection of everything around us. We are alive because we are supported by our subconscious... God, Universe/ Brahman, etc. Continue to ward off evil, and produce good in all directions. Allow growth of new and death of old... change. Pay attention to your feelings and to the subtleties in the world. These things are most important. Allow yourself to not only see in a logical, literal way, for balance comes from the polarity of two anythings. See literally and metaphorically, and your own self will give you the answers that you are needing, either through others and your surroundings, and through yourself as well.

Incoming Mail Art from Henry Guild

After a rough day, followed by a long walk in the rain at four in the morning, I went to check the mail, and found this piece waiting for me. It was especially powerful to me, in a way that only the receiver can describe. We have all had powerful synchronicities before in life, however, it is especially amazing when it come in such a form as this.

As far as Mr. Guild goes, I am assuming that he found my address through my blog. There is something incredibly refreshing about the simplicity of this piece. All that the envelope contained was these pictures, however, the candidness and honesty of a normal day in New York fascinated me profusely. I am a sucker for day-in-the-life documentation, and I was very intrigued by this piece.

In case any of you would like to see more of Mr. Guild's mail art, mail him something neat, or just give his page some love, here is his IUOMA page:
